Project Greens

Project Greens is our flagship charitable food program
started in early 2020 as a response to the pandemic.
Now it has grown into a vital service for the sustainability of our community.

From supply chain disruptions, to widespread unemployment and economic instability, our community was in need… and we responded by creating “Project Greens” to provide healthy greens to our local food pantries and community centers.

We had the opportunity to reshape our local food distribution network and create direct access to fresh, healthy produce. And RFA did just that! We partnered with local food pantries to distribute thousands of pounds of nutritious greens (ie, lettuce, kale, chard, collards, etc.) to underserved families facing food insecurity in Rockland County.

Last year, growing only in our high tunnel, we were able to provide 300-400 heads of greens per week to The Martin Luther King Jr Multipurpose Center in Spring Valley. This year we will be expanding out into the fields, and our overall goals are expanding too…

We are looking to reach to MORE local centers and to increase our production! Currently, we are working with MLK Center, Center of Safety and Change, Good Counsel Homes, Bridges, Visions, United Hospice, Inc and Clarkstown Learning Center!

If there is an organization close to your heart you would like us to check out please email us at info@rocklandfarm.org

And we want your help to make it all happen!

Your donations will go towards everything from helping to buy the seeds and pay the farm crew, to buying & maintaining the equipment.

If you would like to nominate a local charitable organization to receive veggies, please contact us at info@rocklandfarm.org
